قهر في الضفة الغربية

تتخذ سلطة الضفة الغربية إجراءات عدة بهدف إحكام قبضتها على الناس، ومنعهم من التعبير عن أنفسهم. هناك اعتقالات وتخويف بالاعتقال، وتقييد لحرية الصحافيين، ومنع لتوزيع بعض الصحف، وإغلاق للعديد من الجمعيات الخيرية والمؤسسات الفصائلية. يعيش كثير من الناس تحت وطأة القهر والترقب والشك، وتحاول السلطة أن تؤكد هيمنتها وسيطرتها من خلال ذلك.
يركز الإعلام المحلي والعالمي على اعتداءات حماس على مواطنين في قطاع غزة، لكنه يتعمد عدم ذكر شيء مما يجري في الضفة الغربية. الإعلام الفلسطيني المحلي إما أنه منحاز بالكامل أو مخنوق لا يملك الشجاعة الكافية للتكلم. أما منظمات حقوق الإنسان فتحاول ألا ترى حتى تحاول تبريرها عجزها عن الدفاع عن حقوق الناس.
هناك انتهاكات كثيرة تقع ضد حقوق الناس في الضفة الغربية، والمطلوب من الإعلام تغطيتها وفضحها، وألا يبقى أسيرا للمواقف السياسية ورغبات إسرائيل وأمريكا. أما منظمات حقوق الإنسان والديمقراطية فعليها الالتزام بمبادئها المعلنة.

The Palestinian authority led by Mr. Abbass and fayyad has been taking repressive measures against so many Palestinians in the West Bank. It suppresses freedom of expression, detains people, frightens them, poses restrictions on journalists and reporters, forbids the distribution of some news-papers and closes some charitable societies. It is spreading horror everywhere.
Local and international mass media and societies defending human rights are very helpful to the authority by failing to make objective and honest coverage. They concentrate on measures that Hamas takes in Gaza, and disregard what Fateh takes in the West Bank.
The Palestinians need protection from Palestinians, the mass media can be very helpful if freed from the American and Israeli desires. Human rights organizations should act according to their announced principles.
