ٍStatement on the Tragedy of the Thousands of Palestinians Who Are Stuck on the Egyptian Side of the Rafah Crossing

Please distribute as widely as possible

As the suffering of thousands of Palestinian Arab brothers on the Egyptian side of the Rafah Crossing increases, under the worst of conditions and before the whole world, we call on Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza, and on the Arab people of Egypt and the rest of the Arab Homeland, to rise to the occasion in order to bear their full responsibility for what has been happening at the Crossing.

After the United States Government and the Zionist Entity, we hold the Egyptian regime and the Palestinian Authority fully responsible for this tragedy, the Egyptian regime because it refuses to allow these people back into Gaza, and the Palestinian Authority, because it conspired and exerted political pressure to have the Rafah Crossing shut down allegedly because its 'Presidential Security Guard' can no longer make it to the Crossing!

Hence, while the conditions of thousands of families at the Rafah Crossing deteriorate daily and steadily, the Zio-American party continues, through the Egyptian regime and the Palestinian Authority, to use the thousands stuck at the Crossing as hostages to impose the implementation of the agreements signed with the Zionist enemy and to restore the status quo in the Gaza Strip to the way it was before Al Qassam Brigades took over the Strip.

On the eve of the anniversary of the glorious Nasserite revolution in Egyptian, a harbinger of Arab unity, we, in the Arab Nationalist list, uphold and underline the right of our entrapped brothers and sisters to move freely between the two (Asian and African) wings of the Arab nation, over the Rafah Crossing, without any observance of the artificial borders that were drawn by colonial powers.

Moreover, we condemn the shameful international and Arab regime silence shrouding this unfolding tragedy. We demand that resistance groups in Gaza take the initiative more seriously to assist and break the bondage of the entrapped families, even if that meant resorting to the use of force to open the Rafah Crossing if need be. After all, it is the responsibility of resistance groups eventually to tackle this problem without making concessions on political principle.

Furthermore, we hereby rally around the honorable and free women and men who have taken it upon themselves to support and express their solidarity with the families entrapped on the Egyptian side of the Rafah Crossing.

In this regard, we cite with special pride our sisters and brothers in Arab Egypt, always true to their genuine sense of Arabism, who mobilized in Cairo to head for the town of Areesh on July 22, 2007, to deliver aid and break the siege of the families entrapped by Egyptian authorities.

We insistently call on all grass-roots and political parties in Egypt and the rest of the Arab Homeland to follow this example and to bear their Arab, human, and Islamic responsibility before this horrible tragedy.
